In the new year of 2010 one of the most outstanding memes that has been resurrected in my mind is the quote from science fiction writer Arthur Clarke that this is the year we make contact with civilizations that live somewhere in space. The mission in the 'Odyssey' of Clarke was to contact the creators of the Monolith somewhere on Saturn’s moon Japetus. Many who have viewed the movie '2010' will know that the mission was changed to contacting aliens on Europa, the moon of Jupiter.
